Questions to Ask the Breeder...
- What are the personality traits of this breed and this puppy in particular that I should be aware of?

- What are the grooming requirements for this breed?
- What are the common health problems associated with this particular breed?
- What is the average lifespan of this breed?
- What do you feed your adult dogs?
- What diet is the puppy on?
- Do you have the appropriate health clearances on the parents and may I see copies?
- Can I see copies of the registration of the parents (and puppy if available)?
- May I see the parents (either in person or via pictures)?
- May I see where your dogs are raised?
- How many dogs do you own?
- How many litters do you have a year?
- May I see the immunization records on the puppy?
- Do you have a contract/guarantee?
- Do you have references?
- Do you offer lifetime support should I have questions in the future?
If for any reason the breeder is unable or unwilling to answer these questions, you may want to seek another breeder. A reputable breeder will be just as concerned in where their puppy is going as you are in where the puppy is coming from. Spend the time it takes to get to know the breeder and their program in order to make sure you are 100% comfortable and confident in your purchase.
