Golden Retriever Breeder

There are two general types of Golden Retrievers. There are those which are bred for the purpose of becoming hunting dogs, and there are those which are primarily meant to be pets. Before you select a Golden Retriever breeder from which to purchase your new dog, it is important for you to know that there is a difference. This will help you to choose the breeder whose goals for his dogs are the same as your own.

While Golden Retrievers that are bred to be gun dogs-- or bird dogs, as they are also known-- can and do make fine pets, many breeders who have this goal in mind hesitate to sell their dogs solely for pets. They are a wonderful addition to the family, and an absolute delight to own, but their main purpose is to assist hunters. If you are looking for a dog to become your pet, it is advisable to know this in advance.

Your new Golden Retrievers will be an excellent addition to your family. There are few breeds which exhibit such a friendly, cooperative, even disposition. His natural tendencies as a hunting dog may surprise you. Especially if his inborn natural instincts have been further developed by his breeder's training, you will be amazed at his love for tasks, retrieving nearly any appropriate object, his adeptness in swimming, and gentle care of children and smaller animals.

If your breeder has given his dogs basic, routine care, this is all that is needed for him to be in top-notch condition. A daily brushing and regular baths not only promote good health and a lovely appearance, most Golden Retrievers enjoy this grooming.

The Golden Retrievers is easy to take care of and very easy to love. Your breeder can provide you with the dog who will add much joy to your life.
